However, engagement between Bhutan and the EU started even earlier in 1982 when the first agreement on the Plant Protection Services Project was signed. H.E. Ms Tshoki Choden, Ambassador of Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Belgium, is accredited to both the European Council and the European Commission. H.E. Mr. Herve Delphin, Ambassador of the EU to India, is concurrently accredited to Bhutan.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2a2dc3f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2a2dc3f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Under the EU Country Strategy Paper (CSP) 2007-2013, EU support to Bhutan in the 10th Plan was in the RNR Sector, Good Governance and Trade Facilitation. The EU tripled its assistance to Bhutan in the MIP 2014-2020 cycle by supporting (i) Local Government and civil society and (ii) Sustainable agriculture and forestry. The EU also provided additional support for the \u201cEstablishment of Search and Rescue Training Centre\u201d and \u201cWater Flagship\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-07b8675\" data-id=\"07b8675\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-e1b5505 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e1b5505\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-wide\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-258250c\" data-id=\"258250c\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-96a5af7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"96a5af7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>EU support to Bhutan under MIP 2021-2027 is in the following three priority areas:<\/p><ul><li aria-level=\"1\">Priority 1 Climate change, green growth for resilient Bhutan;<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Priority 2 Good Governance for inclusive socio-economic development; and\u00a0<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Priority 3 Digital transition: a driver for change in education and public services delivery.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Apart from bilateral development assistance, Bhutan also avails opportunities under several other EU\u2019s thematic windows of funding such as ERASMUS+ and regional programmes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bhutan-Denmark relations Diplomatic relations between Bhutan and the European Union (EU) were established on 9 August 1985.
